Keep your eyes sparkling and healthy this festive season

Woman Standing With Her Eyes Closed At A Christmas Market.

With so many festivities, parties and preparations to pack in, it’s no wonder our eyes are tired, irritated and lacking in sparkle by the end of the year.

Late nights and busy schedules can have a significant impact on the appearance and wellbeing of your eyes. Follow our top tips to keep your eyes looking bright and feeling fresh throughout the festive season – so you can focus on enjoying yourself.

Find balance

Burning the candle at both ends can really take a toll on your eyes, leaving them feeling and looking tired, irritated and sore.

Even if you’ve got a busy social calendar, make sure you’re leaving yourself time to relax too. Avoiding computer and mobile screens an hour or two before bed can also help give your eyes a much-needed rest, setting you up for a great night’s sleep.

Combat irritation

Being in smoky environments, wearing more makeup than usual, and even the cold weather can cause your eyes to feel irritated. These things aren’t always easy to avoid or adjust, so it’s worth dedicating time to help your eyes recover.

If you’re out and about, it may be worth carrying a specialist eye care product with you. Our Irritated Eye Spray can help relieve symptoms, and its handy pocket-sized format means you can pop it in your bag for when you need it.

Another way to soothe sensitive eyes is with a warm compress, which will help revitalise dry eyes.

Renew your sparkle

Are your eyes starting to look a little tired or dull? Eye brightening drops provide a quick and easy way to restore the natural whiteness and brightness of your eyes.

Whether you need a quick fix for those ‘morning after’ moments, or want your eyes to sparkle ahead of a special event, a couple of drops are all that’s needed to help your eyes look refreshed.

Care for your contacts

If you wear contact lenses, don’t let your regime fall by the wayside. No matter how late the night, remember to take out your lenses. Sleeping in your contact lenses can increase the likelihood of infection and irritation, as well as making removal more difficult the following morning.

Wherever possible, give your eyes a break from contact lenses with glasses – particularly after days and nights of long wear.

It’s not always easy to prioritise your eye health and wellbeing when there’s so much going on, but whatever steps you are able to take, your eyes will thank you for it.
